Just Married: A Vintage Luggage Cake

Every time Abby from Nadia Cakes in Palmdale calls me to photograph one of her fabulous creations I am amazed as soon as I see the cake. This last weekend I shot a cake they made for a Bridal Shower to showcase the couple’s travels together and it was stunning!! Every last bit of it is edible and the paintings on the top and side of the cake were all hand painted by Jessica at Nadia Cakes. I love the detail in the cake! Be sure to stop by and see their beautiful store and grab yourself a few cupcakes. They are de-lish!

Cute as a button: Jimenez Family

Last week I was able to take photos of this lovely family at a park in Palmdale, California. The mom, Abby is the owner of Nadia Cakes in Palmdale and I was absolutely delighted when she asked me to take their family photos. We had a great time and bribed the girls by telling them they could play on the playground after we were finished taking pictures. Naomi and Nadia thought that it was a great bribe but Maya wasn’t so sure. Thank you guys for the great time! You are a beautiful family!

Maya was having a rough day but at least she has sisters that love her!!

Antelope Valley Photographer: Happy Valentine’s Day

Eric and I got together with Doug & Amber yesterday and did a mini styled Valentine photoshoot. I was inspired by the many blog posts I’ve been reading lately and wanted to put together a little something for Valentine’s Day. We had a fun time even when the wind made the balloons go crazy! I loved adding the extra elements to the photos. The beautiful flowers were from Fashion Flowers in Lancaster, CA and the delicious cupcakes were from Nadia Cakes in Palmdale, CA. Two businesses that I love. Thank you Doug & Amber, you guys were awesome!

Lancaster, CA Senior Pictures: Jenny

Last weekend I headed out in the desert with Jenny and her friend Shayne to shoot Jenny’s senior pictures. We kinda got lost trying to find the spot we were looking for but no worries we finally found the spot. We’re pretty sure we saw someone famous shooting their next big movie at one of the movie sets in Lake LA on our little detour so it was all worth it. One of the reasons I love Jenny is because she’s just a fun person to be around! She’s always in good spirits and ready to laugh at or crack the next joke. Congrats on being a Senior this year Jenny! God’s got a great future in store for you and I can’t wait to see it unfold.

Engagement at Ventura Beach Part 2

Julee and Travis are the other couple that I took down to the Ventura Beach Pier for a quick Anytime Session. Julee and Travis have dated for several years and now have plans to tie the knot! I couldn’t be happier for them! Travis likes to tease and Julee likes to laugh so they are perfect for each other. I had a great time with them and really love the fact that they, along with Tommy and Brittany treated Eric and I to Chick-fil-a after the session. Definitely made our tummies happy. Happy for you guys, congrats!!

Engagement at Ventura Beach Part 1

Brittany and Tommy are engaged!! While at the Ventura Beach Marriott for a retreat we headed down to the pier to do a little back to back engagement session with two couples. Part 2 of this post will follow soon. The rocky shoreline wasn’t so easy to walk on but we made it down there and had such a fun time. Even got a little wet!! (On purpose of course.) The magic word to make them smile was to say “cotton candy” but you would’ve needed to be at the retreat to understand that. All that matters is we had a good time laughing and got some great shots. We are so happy for you guys and wish you God’s best!

Antelope Valley Bridal Show

Saturday Eric and I loaded up and went to the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds to set up my booth for the Antelope Valley Bridal Show. I wasn’t sure how I would like but I decided to give it a try and I’m certainly glad I did. Despite the long hours of preparation and skipping a few meals in the rush of things I had a great experience and really enjoyed meeting everyone who stopped by my booth. As a new business in the AV it was nice to meet other vendors from the area and I look forward to keeping in touch with them in the months ahead. Below are a few photos from our fun day!

My husband (Eric Hayes) and hard working graphic designer made my business cards and accordion fold brochures which I loved! Thanks hun!

The contents on the rest of this page are going to make you drool! Just across the way from us was a booth with some absolutely stunning cakes! I thought that I recognized one of the ladies at the booth and kept telling my husband “I think I know that lady at the awesome cake booth.” I finally got the guts up to go over and say hi and it turns out that I went to a baby shower at her home a few years ago.
