Alyssa & Doug: Valencia California Wedding

I had the opportunity to second shoot for Trinity Wheeler at this wedding and had a great time! I enjoy getting to second shoot several times a year as I can always learn something from how someone else may do things. Alyssa and Doug were married at the Blessed Kateri Catholic Church and held their reception at the Valencia County Club and used SOS Entertainment to DJ. I loved Alyssa’s veil with the lace on the edges and the boys in their trendy Converse shoes and Volcom suits. Such a beautiful day!

1920′s Styled Wedding Shoot in Long Beach

This Great Gatsby styled shoot at Rancho Los Cerritos in Long Beach, CA has won my heart!  I attended a workshop recently where I had the opportunity to photograph this styled shoot and it was one of my favorite events so far this year. This venue has a rustic feel to the entire property that brings so much to the photographs and it’s simply a lovely location. Spencer and Ryan were such a sweet couple and made it easy to get good photographs. The cake you see is from My Sweet & Saucy and since I follow her on Twitter it was a delightful surprise to get to photograph one of her lovely creations. All the amazing vendors brought this shoot together beautifully. A big thanks to Gloria McCune and her mad styling skills!

La Quinta California Wedding: Carrie & Bassem

This last weekend I had the opportunity to second shoot for Becker. The wedding was at the beautiful Rancho La Quinta Country Club in La Quinta, CA. Becker’s approach to shooting a wedding i s extremely relaxed and his number one priority on the wedding day is to give his clients the best experience possible. It was awesome to stand along side him and see up close how he interacts with his clients. Even though some of the groom’s family barely spoke English he still found a way to relate to them and make them laugh during the family portraits. Thank you so much Becker for letting me come along!

We started off the day shooting a few details and then headed to the clubhouse for the ceremony and reception. Although the sun was out it actually wasn’t too terrible hot for the ceremony which took place outside. The bride and groom were overflowing with happiness and their wedding day turned out beautiful.

A special thanks to The [b] School for the opportunity to shoot with Becker. Check out Becker’s post from the wedding here.

A Valentine’s Day Inspiration Shoot!

Last year I started a new tradition, a fun and creative Valentine’s Day inspiration shoot. It’s my one shoot a year where I get to be as creative as I want with the location and little details. I picked out all the decor and picked up the cupcakes from Nadia Cakes in Palmdale, CA. Below are several photographs from my Valentine’s Day inspiration shoot at the Ventura Beach Pier in Ventura, CA. I love the lace detail on the bride’s gown! (Thanks Luke and Sharon! You two were perfect for it!) This shoot was also featured in Sparkle & Hay wedding blog and you can see that post here.

Bianca + Joel: Wedding in Victorville, California

Bianca and Joel are two very sweet people and it was a joy to be part of their wedding day in Victorville, CA. They met in college while they were attending Pensacola Christian College. One of my favorite things about their wedding day was that you could sense just how much they loved their family and friends. Although it was Bianca’s big day she didn’t hesitate to congratulate her good friends on their pregnancy during her wedding reception. Her friends had been trying for a long time to have a baby and they told Bianca at her wedding that they were expecting. Joel and Bianca are a lovely couple and I am so excited for them as they begin their journey together as a married couple. Below are some images from their wedding. Enjoy!

Jaclyn + Justin: Wedding at Hacienda Reyes Ranch

Jaclyn and Justin meet unexpectedly while out with friends one night. Jaclyn didn’t even want to go out that night. Who would have thought that they would get married one day? Their wedding day took place at Hacienda Reyes Ranch in Palmdale, CA on Sept. 4, 2010 at 5pm. Their western style wedding had a mixture of purples and yellows for the colors. The guys all wore cowboy hats and boots and the girls wore cute summer dresses from David’s Bridal. As the guests arrived they had Lemonade and Sweet Tea available to keep them cool which the bride put together with wooden boxes and rusty metal signs to go with her rugged cowboy theme. Jaclyn was very much a DIY bride and she along with her friend Audrey did most the decorating. Her reception centerpieces were made up of wooden boxes with purple and yellow flowers from The Farmer’s Wife Florist. They also had candles in old fashioned canning jars with twine ribbon around them. She used canning jars with sunflowers in them to hang on the chairs that lined the isle where the ceremony took place. They made a card holder from a long wooden box and rusty piece of metal. Jaclyn’s decoration details really added to her rugged style wedding.
