I enjoyed seeing the Adraino’s again to shoot their family Christmas photos. The last time I saw little Owen he was a tiny newborn and now he’s almost walking around! I also took Elizabeth’s maternity photos back in April and you can see the photos from that session here. One of the things I really enjoy about being photographer is being able to see a family grow year after year. Elizabeth and Michael are both teachers and keep busy with being involved in school activities. They wonderful people and I’m so happy for them and their new addition to the family.
I met Julie through a friend sending her my way and shot her daughter Ayla for the first time at a pumpkin patch. You can see the Pumpkin Patch session here. Julie is a beautiful and very sweet woman and I love photographing her family. As usual Ayla looks adorable in her romper but we did have to keep Daddy (Jim) from sneaking orange candy to her in fear of having some orange slobber smiles.
This year when I started looking into Christmas orientated picture ideas I decided to go a little out of the box for myself and shoot indoors but still use all natural light to light my subjects. Christmas lights are one of my favorite parts about Christmas so when I saw this background ida on Pinterest I decided to give it a go. I love how the images turned out and you’ll be seing a super cute twin newborn session and another family session using this background as well. Thanks for reading!
The Bullock’s are from Georgia and their “ya’ll” and “ain’t” talk was a sweet reminder of our family back in Virginia. The bullocks were recently here in California for Doug’s college graduation and wanted to get some family photos as a gift to their mom for Mother’s Day. Markie, their oldest son and his wife Christy are starting an orphanage in Mexico. Debbie and I met in college and I was one of her bridesmaids back in 2005. Debbie and her husband Alan live in Georgia and love serving at their local church. Doug and his wife Amber recently moved to Colorado where they serve on staff at a Front Range Baptist Church.
Although this family is not so close on the map they certainly are very close in each others hearts. It was a joy to take their family photos and spend a little time with them. They are a genuine and beautiful family.
Here’s a little sneak peek from Melodie and Jayson’s engagement session in Palmdale, California.

Playing around with some actions from Totally Rad. I’ve used the first one in the past but I’m liking the second one as well. Which do you like? Please comment on your favorite.
This action is Old Skool.
This one is Get Faded (Winter).
Just got off the phone with a friend after discussing wedding photography and all the details of starting a business. I was reminded of how awesome it is to capture a couple’s wedding day and how much I love it! While there is stress and pressure on the big day it so pays off when I get home and download the images! So here I am thinking about how much I love it as I am browsing through some wedding photos and thought I’d post some of my favs!
Such a pretty flower girl!

Sisters!

This is from a wedding last year. Their first anniversary is coming up soon. Happy early anniversary Jon & Kristi!

I love the bride being out of focus here with the water in focus.

Daddy getting ready to walk his oldest daughter down the isle to be married.

Dave & Britt were such a sweet couple to shoot. They were absolutely head over heals for one another! Brittany’s Dad went home to be with the Lord in 2006. Her Dad was an organ donor and she was able to receive part of his knee latter that year when she had to have knee surgery. In a very special way Brittany still got to have her daddy walk her down the isle!

I love the moment just before the kiss!

Sparklers are one of my favorite endings to a wedding. They are so pretty and the Bride and Groom look awesome running through them.

He was a shy little ring bearer but that just made him look more cute

A few weeks ago I was able to take pictures for a lovely 2009 Senior in Lancaster, California. Right off the bat I knew this girl would be fun to photograph because she wouldn’t stop smiling. It was probably all because she really didn’t want to hear any of my cheesy jokes. I had the privilege of shooting her sisters wedding several weeks earlier and I was delighted when I got the email asking if I could shoot her Senior Pictures. We had a great time and she even brought her new puppy along! Good luck on your first year of college Brittany!
The ever so awesome RED shoes.

Love the look on her face in this one as she’s kinda laughing but trying not to laugh too much for the picture.

Can’t forget the cute puppy! He loved chewing his water bottle while he wasn’t modeling
