Last year I started a new tradition, a fun and creative Valentine’s Day inspiration shoot. It’s my one shoot a year where I get to be as creative as I want with the location and little details. I picked out all the decor and picked up the cupcakes from Nadia Cakes in Palmdale, CA. Below are several photographs from my Valentine’s Day inspiration shoot at the Ventura Beach Pier in Ventura, CA. I love the lace detail on the bride’s gown! (Thanks Luke and Sharon! You two were perfect for it!) This shoot was also featured in Sparkle & Hay wedding blog and you can see that post here.
Bianca and Joel are two very sweet people and it was a joy to be part of their wedding day in Victorville, CA. They met in college while they were attending Pensacola Christian College. One of my favorite things about their wedding day was that you could sense just how much they loved their family and friends. Although it was Bianca’s big day she didn’t hesitate to congratulate her good friends on their pregnancy during her wedding reception. Her friends had been trying for a long time to have a baby and they told Bianca at her wedding that they were expecting. Joel and Bianca are a lovely couple and I am so excited for them as they begin their journey together as a married couple. Below are some images from their wedding. Enjoy!
Celebrating Christ’s birth is quite miraculous and I absolutely love the Christmas season!! There’s something about the lights, music, manger scenes, busy stores, hot cocoa and cool air that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
While we did get off to a bit of a late start on the decorating we managed to get it done this last week. We put the tree up on Wednesday night while watching little women and drinking some hot cocoa. Little Women was my pick of course.
My mom has probably watched little women 100 times, it’s quite the family favorite. We’re all decked out for Christmas now and feeling pretty jolly! Here are a few pictures of our tree and the pictures we took today for our Christmas card. Merry Christmas!!
I love this guy.
And because we like to make silly faces…
Our tree and one of my favorite glass ornaments.
Enjoyed time at the park with Camden Mordh and photographing him for his first birthday. It was so fun to photograph this cute little guy! His mommy Danielle and Aunt Kristi did lots clapping, singing and noise making so we could get some good smiles. We had to scare some 10yr old boys out of the baby swing but as soon as they were gone we put Camden right in. I think the swing was his favorite part of the day! He loved going high like the big boys do. Well maybe not like some big boys but he was having a blast. Happy first birthday to Camden!!
The picture on the left below is of Camden when he was just a week or so old. They grow so fast!
Here is another one of Camden’s feet at just a week or so old.
Abby from Nadia Cakes called me this morning to let me know that my name was in the AV Press for the pictures of their event for TLC‘s show Fabulous Cakes. So excited to see my name in the paper for the first time! This is the second appearance for Nadia Cakes on the Fabulous Cakes show and as usual the cake was amazing!
Jaclyn and Justin meet unexpectedly while out with friends one night. Jaclyn didn’t even want to go out that night. Who would have thought that they would get married one day? Their wedding day took place at Hacienda Reyes Ranch in Palmdale, CA on Sept. 4, 2010 at 5pm. Their western style wedding had a mixture of purples and yellows for the colors. The guys all wore cowboy hats and boots and the girls wore cute summer dresses from David’s Bridal. As the guests arrived they had Lemonade and Sweet Tea available to keep them cool which the bride put together with wooden boxes and rusty metal signs to go with her rugged cowboy theme. Jaclyn was very much a DIY bride and she along with her friend Audrey did most the decorating. Her reception centerpieces were made up of wooden boxes with purple and yellow flowers from The Farmer’s Wife Florist. They also had candles in old fashioned canning jars with twine ribbon around them. She used canning jars with sunflowers in them to hang on the chairs that lined the isle where the ceremony took place. They made a card holder from a long wooden box and rusty piece of metal. Jaclyn’s decoration details really added to her rugged style wedding.

Here is Nadia Cakes on TLC‘s show Fabulous Cakes!! So excited for Abby and her team!! They will actually be on the show again soon as they bake a fabulous fall themed wedding cake. If you not able to read my earlier post you can read it and see all the pictures from the big reveal by clicking here. At the beginning of the show the drawing of the cake fades into one of the photo’s I took and later they show another picture I took of a luggage cake that the Nadia Cakes team made. It was so exciting for me to see my pictures on TV!! The film crew forgot to list me as a photographer and apologized to me in an email. Stinks, but hey I knew they were my photos and that’s all that counts right? Had a fun time shooting the big reveal and am happy for Abby and her team at Nadia Cakes for being chosen to be on the show.
