I recently worked on a styled wedding shoot with Emilee of Tasteful Tatters where we pulled inspiration from Anne of Green Gables but put our own twist on things for the modern bride. The Anne of Green Gables movie series are some of my favorite movies ever so needless to say I was a little excited about this project. We incorporated elements related to Anne of Green Gables like the feel of the location, invitation wording, bride’s red hair, vintage china, book quotes, raspberry petit fours, books and a small chalkboard slate.
Our goal was to give the shoot a simple, farm life and romantic feel with an emphasis on the marriage. We incorporated their vows by having custom stamps made and then stamping the vows on hankies for them to read to one another during the ceremony portion of the shoot.
The whole team was amazing to work with and I couldn’t have dreamed it up better. From the flowers to the dress it all came together so beautifully. Probably one of my favorite parts about this shoot was having a video done for it. I can’t quite put it into words but the video really just brought the whole shoot together for me. There’s something about seeing the motion and watching the details unfold that just makes me so happy. The different shots Larry got throughout the shoot were awesome! It’s perfect!
I am super excited about a styled shoot project I am working on with Emilee of Tasteful Tatters. We are drawing inspiration from my all time favorite old movie and incorporating lots of amazing details to bring this shoot to life. We can’t wait to work with some amazing vendors and we are in search of two amazing models.
We are looking for a young married couple preferably with the bride having red hair. The photo shoot will likely take place in Southern California and in return for being models I’ll definitely hook you up with the amazing images from the shoot! And what girl doesn’t love wearing a beautiful wedding dress surrounded by amazing details? If you are interested we would love to hear from you!! Please email me with a picture of you and your husband and a paragraph or two on why you would like to participate in this styled shoot. We are closing submissions on Thursday, November 15th.
Here’s a little vintage inspiration for your night by DearGolden on Etsy:
This session was so fun to style and photograph. Vintage keys, burlap, cupcakes, paper hearts and mason jars were the elements I decided to use and mostly because they’re just some of my personal favorite things. I loved using my crafty side creating the set for this styled wedding shoot and we picked up some cupcakes from a local shop here in Valencia called Velvet Cupcakes. I scoped out a few locations and found a perfect little area near our home in Valencia for the shoot. Courtney & Kevin were perfect for the shoot and I love how the session turned out! This session also was featured on the Wed Loft blog and you can check out the post here.
