Like most creatives I love putting together pretty details and have been thinking of putting together some gorgeous dreamy summer wedding details. After the initial brainstorming meeting with Wildly Wed and White Fig Designs we put a date on the shoot and decided to aim for summer woodland wedding inspiration. We wanted the shoot to give a dreamy summer feel set in a wooded area with bright flowers and the warm glow of candles to give inspiration to summer brides that want to have a woodland feel to their wedding. We pulled in pinks, greens, peaches and dusky greens for the florals and details. We then added a gorgeous gathering of taper candles to the table with moss, ferns, brass and the most amazing floral centerpiece. Touches of bohemian style were used here and there along with a fir blanket or two to bring in some cozy for the cool summer evenings. The invitation suite was made with garden rose illustrations complete with a custom illustrated map that I drew as a collaboration with Honey Paper. You have to see these invitations, so be sure to keep scrolling. They are gorgeous!! We really enjoyed putting this styled shoot together and hope it can bring some inspiration and ideas to brides across the country.
For this shoot we also wanted to have a real life couple. Noah and Christine! Their love story began at Christ Church in Lake Forest Illinois. They were both attending Trinity International University and youth leaders in the youth group there. They went on their first date to The Cheesecake Factory and somewhere in between all the talking and laughing they realized that there was definitely something between the two of them. When Noah took Christine home that night they sat in the car right outside her dorm where they talked and Noah asked Christine to officially be his girlfriend. That question was filled by a yes from Christine and the most awkward kiss ever, but hey at least no one was watching. (At least they hope not.)
As their dating life continued they both knew on New Years Eve of 2007 that they wanted to get married. The following summer Noah flew out to California from Illinois while Christine was home for summer vacation. Christine had no idea that July 31st 2008 had a beautiful surprise waiting for her. Noah had Christine’s best friend trick her into going to the Newport Pier (the first beach she took Noah to) for a barbecue. Christine was starving and hadn’t eaten much that day because she was saving room for dinner that night and was a little “hangry” during the drive out there. Christine stepped out of the car, started walking towards the pier and then saw Noah standing there. He took Christine onto the beach just as the sun was setting and asked her to marry him! She was completely shocked!
Noah and Christine were married on July 11,2009 at the same church where they met and they now live in Southern California. Their favorite memory as a married couple was the day their beautiful daughter Charleigh was born on June 15, 2013. She has brought so much joy and love into their lives. She is a gift from God that they are forever thankful for. Charleigh’s laugh and smile can brighten up anything! She keeps them focused on what is really important in life. They love their precious little girl so much even though she has deprived them of sleep for the last two years.Noah loves Christine’s fun personality, ability to be herself, impersonations of Wendy from Peter Pan and of course thinks she’s incredibly beautiful. Christine loves Noah’s smile and is just a bit jealous of his skin! She loves that he is an amazing daddy to Charleigh- its one of Christine’s favorite things to watch. She loves that he’s a natural leader in their family and that he is passionate about student ministry.
