Jenny & Michael: 440 Seaton, Los Angeles

Today I get to share Jenny and Michaels beautiful wedding at 440 Seaton in Los Angeles. There were so many fun moments, gorgeous details and happy tears! These two are high school sweethearts and I’ve know them for several years now. Watching them fall in love, photographing their engagement session and now photographing their wedding was truly an honor and such a joy to be part of!

First of all can we just gush over this wedding venue for a minute? It’s basically my dream with all the beautiful warm tones and gorgeous natural light pouring in from the windows near the ceiling. So so perfect and I felt like every time I walked around a corner there was another amazing place to take photos. With exposed ceilings, old wood floors and doors everywhere and industrial textures on just about ever wall I couldn’t get enough! The ceremony took place in front of a beautiful birch framed cloth backdrop. The backdrop was decorated in one corner with eucalyptus and the center isle was lined with eucalyptus as well. Jenny & Michael put a lot of time and thought into the food choices for the reception. They didn’t do a typical sit down dinner but rather had a bunch of different gourmet style foods buffet style. It’s was delicious and I could tell the guests were loving it!!

Jenny worked with Tasteful Tatters in bringing the details of her day together and they did such an amazing job! My favorite part of the details was that Jenny used her own hand lettering skills for their invitations and wedding signage. It was the perfect touch! If you need some hand lettering done, Jenny is your gal!

During their reception we headed to the roof for some more photos of Jenny & Michael with the Los Angeles city scape in the background. It was a nice breath of fresh air and such gorgeous photos came from it.

Congrats Jenny & Michael! Love you guys and loved being part of your amazing wedding day as your photographer! Thank you! May you cherish these photos forever and ever! 🙂 -Megan

Sara & Robert: Punta Cana Destination Wedding

Punta Cana Destination Wedding

I can’t believe we were just on that gorgeous beach! Sara and Robert’s destination wedding at the Jellyfish Restaurant in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic was stunning to say the least. Sara and Robert went to high school together but it wasn’t until more recent years that they started dating and given that these two love to travel they actually got engaged in Cabo back in late 2012. See their engagement session here.

For their wedding they were all about having a fun time and making sure their guests were having an amazing little vacay for their wedding. I loved how easy going and adventurous these two were! From the getting ready at the Hard Rock Hotel, to the ceremony and reception at the Jellyfish Restaurant and then their day after session back at the Hard Rock it was all beautiful to be part of and so much fun to photograph.

Sara & Rob, I am so excited for you guys and I’m missing that amazing beach terribly! Your love for your family & friends, each other and outgoing personalities made being with your and documenting your wedding day such a dream. I wish you both all the best and many more fun travel adventures for the future… Megan

A Cozy Winter Wedding at the Old Newhall Barn

I recently worked on a styled wedding shoot with Tricia of Tricia Dahlgren Wedding Consulting and Event Coordinating that was published on Green Wedding Shoes today and have been dying to share the gorgeous photographs from the shoot. Be sure to head over and check out the feature here on Green Wedding Shoes. I pulled inspiration from memories of growing up in Oregon and then did my best at explaining the feel to Tricia so we could bring the design together. Things like our cold winters, warm berry cobbler, friends and family who loved showing off their latest hunting trip and curling up with a blanket and some hot cocoa are some of my favorite memories.

Our goal was to emphasize a cozy winter style in the wedding details. We incorporated a red plaid jacket for the bride, deer antlers, many wood textures, candles, s’mores, a hot cocoa station, warm pies, a picnic setup as the sweetheart table and an amazingly gorgeous old barn wedding venue. I am completely head over heals for how this shoot came out and could not have asked for a better team to with with. Thank you all!! Thank you, Thank you!
