You guys!! An engagement session in the middle of cherry blossoms! Ahhh, Taylor & Alex looked amazing for their engagement session and there’s nothing I love more than photographing a beautiful couple at a beautiful location. Taylor and Alex started dating their senior year of high school (2007) when they went on their first date to homecoming. This January he proposed just after bringing her breakfast in bed! Soooo sweet!
Alex has family that owns Copeland’s Cherry Ranch, an organic cherry ranch and when I first met with them they mentioned possibly doing their engagement photos at the ranch. Leona Valley has many little hidden treasures that are beautiful for photos and this little cherry ranch was certainly one of those treasures! Taylor had the owners give her a call when they started to see the blossoms and then we scheduled their session for a few days after when the blooms were nice and full.
I think I was more excited about spring time this year than in years past for some reason. There’s just something about all the pretty flowers, green grass and new growth that springs up. Just before I arrived to the ranch the sun peeked through the clouds and gave us a little warm light. While we walked around taking photos we got to listed to the birds chirping and I so enjoyed being out in the fresh air amongst the beautiful cherry blossoms. So refreshing!
Towards the end of their session as the sun was setting we took advantage of some AMAZING pink skies. After the sun set the storm clouds rolled in pretty quickly, thunder started to roll, then the lightning came and last but not least some good sized hail poured down. We heard the hail starting to come our direction, making us move a little more quickly to the cars. I wouldn’t change a thing about the evening though! I loved it all!
Congrats Taylor & Alex! Thank you for running through hail and saving me when I panicked and couldn’t find my keys fast enough! I am so happy for the two of you and can’t wait for your wedding in October! – Megan
