Woodland Family Photos: Baydo Family

I love that we were able to make it to Washington during our Christmas trip to the Pacific Northwest and that I was able to photograph this amazing family! We spent time with my family in Oregon for Christmas and Larry threw out the idea of the Baydo’s wanting to possibly do family photos. Since Eric and I were already so close we figured sure why not! It was a little chilly out but they survived with trips to the car to defrost while they waited until it was their turn. We got some beautiful family photographs and didn’t even have to leave their property!

I was born and raised in Oregon so anytime I get to go to the Northwest I just love seeing all the green and trees. Little backroads like this are everywhere and walking along them, exploring and breathing the fresh air brings back memories and makes me miss it. Being that we now live in Southern California where green and trees are far and few between, it’s hard not to stop and take pictures constantly when we travel up North. The little road that runs along the edge of the Baydo’s property was the perfect spot for pictures! I love the winter feel of the tall sparse trees lining the road and even a little fog in the distance. So pretty! Richelle has some great location idea skills. 🙂

They were so kind, inviting us into their home and making us feel so welcome while we were there. They even sent us home with some goodies and amazingly delicious fresh pepperoni that we put to good use on our 16 hour drive home.

Thank you for your being so welcoming! God has blessed you all with such a beautiful big family and it was so much fun to photograph and spend time with you all! – Megan

Anytime Portraits: Nicole

Nicole is a sophomore this year and is such a beautiful little lady! Her mom had me come to their house to shoot her and her brother Jacob and you can see his photos here.  While I was there they brought down some schnazy cars from the neighbors house for a few shots and then we headed out to the back of the property for more pictures with Nicole and her friends Anne and Logan. I love putting beautiful subjects in the middle of a rough and rustic area and these girls were perfect for this shoot. Enjoy the photographs! Oh and if you love boots like I do you, can find a pair like those pictured in the middle above from Steve Madden (my other crush).

Jaclyn + Justin: Wedding at Hacienda Reyes Ranch

Jaclyn and Justin meet unexpectedly while out with friends one night. Jaclyn didn’t even want to go out that night. Who would have thought that they would get married one day? Their wedding day took place at Hacienda Reyes Ranch in Palmdale, CA on Sept. 4, 2010 at 5pm. Their western style wedding had a mixture of purples and yellows for the colors. The guys all wore cowboy hats and boots and the girls wore cute summer dresses from David’s Bridal. As the guests arrived they had Lemonade and Sweet Tea available to keep them cool which the bride put together with wooden boxes and rusty metal signs to go with her rugged cowboy theme. Jaclyn was very much a DIY bride and she along with her friend Audrey did most the decorating. Her reception centerpieces were made up of wooden boxes with purple and yellow flowers from The Farmer’s Wife Florist. They also had candles in old fashioned canning jars with twine ribbon around them. She used canning jars with sunflowers in them to hang on the chairs that lined the isle where the ceremony took place. They made a card holder from a long wooden box and rusty piece of metal. Jaclyn’s decoration details really added to her rugged style wedding.
