Santa Clarita Engagement: Adriana & Aaron

So excited to share Adriana & Aaron’s Santa Clarita engagement session on the blog tonight!

I had a great time with these two exploring the Placerita Canyon area and then off to the gorgeous pepper trees. Check out Adriana’s dress! GORGEOUS! I loved the black sheer layers, such a great dress for an engagement session! Totally matches Adriana’s love for all things Disney, it was a pretty magical dress.

These two are so easy going, but I feel like I say that a lot so probably most of my couples are. Hey, I’m down for that! Makes for a fun time during the session when they’ll go anywhere and do just about anything. Well, I am sure they would have drawn the line at some point. Maybe if I would have asked them to have a mud war or something. That actually sounds like a fun idea!Any takers? Maybe for the end of an engagement session though and somewhere with a bathroom or lake nearby. lol All that to say, it’s a good feeling to know that your clients trust you!

Adriana thought to wear some boots under her dress which was smart thinking because we did a little tromping around, up and down hills and had to wade through some pokey leaves. Maybe not wade through, but they weren’t the most pleasant to walk through and definitely not if you had high heels on. Once we got to some better ground Adriana put on her pretty heels for a few photos as well. Towards the end of their session Aaron picked up Adriana and twirled around in the middle of a long row of tall trees. Adriana kicked her heels up in the air and it made for such a cute photo!

Congrats on your engagement you two! I can’t wait for the wedding and to see all the pretty come together! – Megan

Santa Clarita Family Photos: Bishop Family

I love that I get to photograph the same families year after year and I love this family! I’ve known the Bishop’s for several years now and they are some of the most kind and loving people on the planet! I never have trouble getting natural smiles from everyone either because they always know how to make one another smile with their goofy remarks they throw around. It’s always a fun time to listen to them poke fun.

I met up with them at a neighborhood park in Santa Clarita and it was the perfect spot for their family photos this year. The colors they chose for everyone to wear were so pretty! I feel like their clothing and color choices went perfectly with their location and the cooler weather this time of year. I also LOVE that awesome big tree where we took the photos of the entire family together. It was meant to be. They are a family with roots in Christ and I know that they mean the world to one another. Having that huge tree in the background was sort of a perfect representation of their strong family tree.

Thank you all for trusting me document your family year after year! I so enjoy every time I get to see you all! -Megan

Stephanie & Patrick: Camarillo Ranch

Stephanie and Patrick’s wedding at the historic Camarillo Ranch was absolutely gorgeous! These two were such a dream to work with and I love getting to photograph weddings at places with so much history. Camarillo Ranch is one of those places that I could explore for hours just looking at all the old things and reading about the history. That sort of thing is fascinating to me. The grounds are so pretty with several great places to take photos. The beautiful victorian style ranch house, stables and a barn all from the 1800’s. I may have a slight obsession with old barns. I love them!

Stephanie got ready for her big day in one of the rooms of the house and just outside was the gazebo where the ceremony was held. She looked amazing! The ceremony went smoothly, lots of laughs were shared and maybe a tear or two shed. At the end of their ceremony the bridal party exited epically with a little mini dance party as each of them walked back down the isle. It was hilarious and fun to photograph!

I love that Stephanie and Patrick are so easy going and that it’s very hard to get a bad photograph of these two! They were up for walking all over for photos and just very chill the entire day. I loved watching the two of them interact and seeing them with the biggest smiles ever as Stephanie walked down the isle. They such a sweet couple and blend together so perfectly.

Thank you Stephanie and Patrick for allowing me to be a small part of your day as your wedding photographer! Loved getting to know you two and wish you God’s many blessings in your future together at Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Murphy!

Reese is One: Mermaid Birthday

Get ready to see the cutest little mermaid you ever did see! Oh my goodness! The cuteness is just too much! My husband and I met Drew and Emily through our church three or four years ago now and have become good friends with them. I remember when Emily announced to our small group that she was pregnant and it seems as if time has flow by. I feel like it was only recently that I was photographing Reese’s newborn session but it’s been an entire year and she just keeps getting more cute as the days go by. Now Reese is ONE! I can’t believe it! Such a cutie pie! I love watching little ones grow and seeing how they change and starting showing their character.  Happy One Year Reesey!!

Baby Luke: Newborn Session

Photographing families over and over as their families grow is such a cool experience. Tonight I am sharing Luke Chappell’s newborn session. I think the last time I saw this family was when I photographed his big sister’s newborn session and she’ll be two years old soon! Time flies!

Luke is just about a week old in his newborn photos and such a handsome little guy. He wasn’t a big fan of being moved during his session so we had to make sure he got his mommy snuggles to keep him happy. His nursery is decorated in a sports theme with lots of details from his Dad’s sports collection. Being an outdoor lover myself I think my favorite part about his room is the mounted antlers above his crib. If I have a boy someday, I may need to steel this idea. You’ll also see a photo of a book called Willow Wallaby which is a children’s book that Katie (Luke’s mom) wrote! What a week memory to have photos of the book as part of his newborn session! Luke also has his very own signed Pacquiao boxing glove so of course we had to photograph him next to it. During his session we really wanted to get big sister Alivia giving him kisses because that is her favorite thing to do so you’ll see a few photos in there of her being a sweet big sister.

After photographing photos of just Luke we headed outside to get a few family photos of all four of them. We did a lot of counting to get Alivia to smile because her favorite thing right now is to count to 10, with 10 being the coolest number and most worthy of a huge smile when we said it.

Enjoy the cuteness and congrats Matt & Katie!
