The Castaway Burbank: Adriana & Aaron

Adriana and Aaron’s wedding day at the Castaway Restaurant in Burbank was full of laughter, smiles and pretty details. These two have been nothing but amazing to work with. It’s so fun to meet with a them, talk about their wedding day and then months later see it all come together so beautifully. I’m so excited for them and their new beginning as Mr. and Mrs. Zell.

Everyone was so very excited for these two and to see their dreams come true as they tied the knot! They both had the biggest smiles and there were many times throughout the day where their happiness was so much so that their eyes welled up with tears. It started when they exchanged gifts with one another before seeing each other at the ceremony, then during the first look with her dad and brother, continued just before and during the ceremony and then more happy tears during the speeches at the reception. It was so evident just how much these two love one another and their families.

The mountains in the background of the ceremony site were so pretty and so were all the trees surrounding them. Adriana looked stunning in her gorgeous dress and to top it off she had the most amazing bouquet of white peonies. I am a sucker for peonies, they are probably my favorite flower or at least the runner up to tulips.

As the day went on and the reception began they continued with their big smiles and had the best time with their friends and family at the reception.

Congrats Adriana & Aaron!! I wish nothing but the very best for you two in your future as Mr. and Mrs. Thank you for allowing my team to document your day and being so amazing to work with!

California Redwoods: Jenny & Michael

Growing up in Oregon has given me a love for trees and I will always love being in the middle of the forest. Felt like home while I was photographing this engagement session in the middle of the tall trees!  It was such amazingly fun adventure! We walked amongst the redwoods (well sorta ran since we only had 30 minutes before the park closed) and then went to the beach. The best of both worlds! These two were amazing and I loved all their laughing, making faces at each other and seeing the connection between the two of them! I’m thinking I’ll have to do an Instagram of their funny face outtakes for sure.

I’ve known Jenny for many years now and photographed her when she was a senior in high school. When I found out that she got engaged to her high school sweetheart, Michael, on the beach in Washington State I was so very excited for the two of them. They’ve been dating for several years now and I was just waiting to see an engagement announcement post online. I am sure a few others were waiting for that post too! 🙂

They both love trees and some of Jenny’s favorite trees are the redwoods. We searched high and low and put a lot of time into finding the perfect location and Jenny finally stumbled upon a spot with a few redwood trees that wasn’t too far away. Once we arrived we noticed a sign letting us know that the park closed at 6pm which, as I said above meant that we had just 30 minutes to hike down to the redwoods and get some amazing photos. I’m so glad we did though and I have a feeling that Jenny and Michael are glad too. Thank you Jenny & Michael for the fun time and being amazing to work with! Love you guys and I can’t wait for your wedding this August at 440 Seaton!

Danielle & Jake: Lace and Mint Green Wedding

When I get to photograph the wedding of someone I’ve know for a little while it makes it that much more sweet because I know a little bit more about their family and just how much this wedding day is anticipated. I’ve know Danielle (or DeeJay to all her friends/fam) for a while and was so excited when I got her text asking me to photograph her wedding. I was photographing another wedding when I read her text and I couldn’t wait for the first little break I could steal away to reply YES, YES, YES! Ha! Since she contacted me before she got engaged I got in touch with Jake and we devised a plan for me to photograph the proposal on the Queen Mary which you can see here and their engagement session here.

Lexa & Eric: Oak Grove Church

Lexa & Eric said their vows earlier this month at the cutest little white country church that Lexa found in Rickreall, Oregon. Oak Grove Church was established in 1882 and is surrounded by vineyards, hayfields and orchards for miles. The church and gorgeous backdrop made for the perfect place to have a wedding!

These two met while traveling together on a ministry team in college Lexa & Eric became friends and soon that friendship turned into a more serious relationship. Eric proposed to Lexa this last December at Canon Beach and she said YES!

Oregon is where I grew up I was over the moon to be able to go back home to photograph Lexa & Eric’s wedding surrounded by the green trees and beautiful countryside that I will always love. I am so so happy for you two! It was an honor to be part of and document your day and I wish you both the very best as you serve the Lord together in ministry! -Megan

Aline & Nicholas: Julianni’s Italian Ristorante

Nicholas & Aline got married at Father Serra Parish in the desert of Southern California and then held their reception at Julianni’s Italian Ristorante. The two of them first met while working at the same hospital. Nick would come in early and she would stay late hoping they’d run into each other. Aline mentioned that she knew when she first met Nick that he’d be her husband one day. How sweet is that!  Aline looked gorgeous in her dress and  especially with her bridesmaids in Mint Green dresses standing beside her. Mint green is my fav! What I love about Nick and Aline is that it seems the just get each other and sometimes without even saying anything. I think that Aline brings out the spunk in Nick a little and I love that about them too. They are such a beautiful couple!

Your wedding day was so beautiful and I am so happy for you Nick & Aline! I wish you both the very best in your future together as Mr. & Mrs Nicholas Saylor!
