The one thing that stuck out to me most about Amy & David was probably from the very first email she sent me when she said “This is a first marriage for both of us, and feels extra special because we found each other a little later in life when we weren’t sure we ever would!” From the moment I read that sentence I knew that they had a special love for one another and that got me excited about photographing their wedding.
Their wedding day was filled with so many sweet moments and meaningful traditions. Part of the theme throughout their wedding included succulents. Amy had succulents from her very own garden in her bridal bouquet that Charmaine made and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Succulents lined the steps of their ceremony site, potted succulents on their reception tables for the centerpiece & guest favors and sugar succulents trickled down the side of their wedding cake. Amy and her Dad both cried when he saw her in her wedding dress for the first time. So incredibly sweet! For their Bridal party they went with a mix of Bridesmaids, Bridesmen, Groomsmaids and Groomsmen and it was filled with their dearest friends and family. During the ceremony they did a “passing of the rings” where the guests sent their well wishes as they passed the rings through the crowd. They also did a dove release, breaking of the glass and had their parents plant roses as a unity symbolization. At their reception they both danced the night away and had such a blast singing with spoons and even breaking out the air guitar. 🙂 Congrats Amy & Dave! So happy for the two of you and maybe just a little jealous of your Iceland honeymoon!

I loved Amy’s bridal bouquet! Absolutely gorgeous and had succulents from their garden scattered throughout.
Amy was starting to tear up here with happy tears, which is why I love this photo. A beautiful day was ahead!
Her Dad started to cry when he saw her. Such a sweet moment.
Dave was extremely proud of his Star Wars cuff links. 🙂
Amy & David had white roses on the front row as a remembrance for their grandparents whom have passed away.
During the ceremony their parents planted a rose bush for Amy & David to rather than lighting a unity candle.
Their handsome little doggie was such a good ring bearer!
One of my favorite ring pictures! Loved the colors and textures in Amy’s bouquet!
Their portraits started at just that sweet time of day with the warm light as the sun sets.
Amy looked so gorgeous!
At the entrance to their reception they had a table with pictures displayed of their parents and grandparents’ wedding photos. 1931 was the oldest anniversary date!
Succulents on the reception tables!
The cake was perfection and the succulent sugar flowers looked amazing!
Amy totally had some moves when it came to dancing…
…so did Dave with his air guitar! Ha!
Every time I see this wedding cake I drool! I love those succulents!
Hilarious!
