Melodie + Jayson: The Engagement

Melodie and Jayson’s engagement session is perhaps my favorite engagement session so far. We stayed local and went to Palmdale, California and found a nice area with some great light and hallways with arches.
I Had a great time getting to know Melodie and Jayson during their session. Since I’ve only spent time around Melodie while she was coaching a volleyball team if was funny at first seeing her be all giddy with Jayson. They are such a cute couple!
So happy for you two!

Mitch + Melinda: The Wedding

Eric and I headed to the coast on a Saturday morning to shoot Mitch and Melinda’s wedding in Ventura, California. We enjoyed the drive and were excited to start shooting such a sweet couple. We met Mitch and Melinda through Mitch’s dad who is a photographer here in Lancaster. I knew when I met them that their wedding day would be relaxed and beautiful and it was just that. We and enjoyed the day and watching these two become one was beautiful! When I gave them their wedding package today they gave me a hug!! Awesome clients and beautiful people inside and out!
Melinda and her bridesmaids got ready at the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Hotel and Resort which is where we took most the the portraits as well. The grounds were gorgeous! Thank you Mitch and Melinda for letting us document this amazing time in your lives!

Gibbs Family: Anytime Session

To say the least I absolutely love this family! I met Janelle while we were in college and we’ve been best buds ever since. We were both from opposite ends of the great state of Oregon and to make a long story short we ended up finding out that her dad and my uncle knew one another quite well. Janelle went to school with my cousins and Janelle’s dad had worked with my uncle on construction projects. What a small world! Jonathan, Janelle and their son Josiah now live in Florida and while they were out visiting last week we got together for a little family shoot at the park. Thanks for the fun time Gibbs Family!! Love you guys!

My favorite 
We gave Josiah blueberries to keep him happy for the second half of the session so I had to get pictures with his mouth closed because it was fill with blueness.
Blueberries all gone now. I was holding his favorite book full of trucks and tractors to get a good smile. He loves tractors!
Dada threw him up in the air a few times but Josiah wasn’t too sure about going too high.

Joy & Corey: Engaged

Had a great time with Joy and Corey while shooting their engagement pictures at the park. Corey is in the Army and took a short leave to come see Joy here in Lancaster and get their engagement pictures done. The lovely 100 mph freezing winds seemed to just make their session a little bit more fun and forced us to get creative with trying to keep Joy’s hair down and Corey’s fingers from going numb. Congrats Joy and Corey, it was great getting to know you two!

Engagement Session Sneak Peak: Joy & Corey

Went to the park last week with Joy and Corey for their engagement session and had a great time watching them laugh at each other throughout the session. Towards the end I had them jump on the playground equipment for a few quick photos and they did this cute little position on the bridge. More photos to come soon!

Just Married: A Vintage Luggage Cake

Every time Abby from Nadia Cakes in Palmdale calls me to photograph one of her fabulous creations I am amazed as soon as I see the cake. This last weekend I shot a cake they made for a Bridal Shower to showcase the couple’s travels together and it was stunning!! Every last bit of it is edible and the paintings on the top and side of the cake were all hand painted by Jessica at Nadia Cakes. I love the detail in the cake! Be sure to stop by and see their beautiful store and grab yourself a few cupcakes. They are de-lish!

Antelope Valley Photographer: Happy Valentine’s Day

Eric and I got together with Doug & Amber yesterday and did a mini styled Valentine photoshoot. I was inspired by the many blog posts I’ve been reading lately and wanted to put together a little something for Valentine’s Day. We had a fun time even when the wind made the balloons go crazy! I loved adding the extra elements to the photos. The beautiful flowers were from Fashion Flowers in Lancaster, CA and the delicious cupcakes were from Nadia Cakes in Palmdale, CA. Two businesses that I love. Thank you Doug & Amber, you guys were awesome!

Engagement at Ventura Beach Part 2

Julee and Travis are the other couple that I took down to the Ventura Beach Pier for a quick Anytime Session. Julee and Travis have dated for several years and now have plans to tie the knot! I couldn’t be happier for them! Travis likes to tease and Julee likes to laugh so they are perfect for each other. I had a great time with them and really love the fact that they, along with Tommy and Brittany treated Eric and I to Chick-fil-a after the session. Definitely made our tummies happy. Happy for you guys, congrats!!
