I love this engagement session in Laguna Beach at Crystal Cove! I first met Sahar and Richard over Skype since they both live hundreds of miles from me. From the first conversation I knew I would love working with these two. They both have very kind and reserved personalities. We we discussed briefly what they were looking for in their engagement and wedding photos and went on to discuss parts of their love story. Sahar and Richard met in college while doing clean energy research for the Department of Energy in Berkeley and are now planning their wedding at the UCI University Club in Irvine.
Sahar’s parents live nearby Crystal Cove and she’s always loved the area so we went ahead and scheduled their session there. Spending an evening photographing on the beach always sounds like a good idea to me so naturally I was excited! I hadn’t quite realized how many different entrance points there were to Crystal cove so after finally finding the right one, I met up with Sahar and Richard and we headed down to the beach. Along the way we stopped at a few different spots to take photos and arrived down on the beach just as that warm sunset light was beaming. I think what I loved most about this beach was the pattern of the rocks. I also loved the cliff sides! Both aspects made for some beautiful photos. When we finished at the beach we raced down to Five Crowns to get a quick night shot of them with an old fashioned phone booth that looks like it came straight from England. Perfectly fitting seems how Richard is from England!
